The holiday season brings festive fun but it also brings disruptions to something very important: the trash pick up schedule.

 

The holidays usually bring changes to garbage pick up by such means as changing the usual pick up day or shifting the schedule slightly to allow city employees and waste companies to catch up on their usual routes. Independence chamber President Lisa Wilson says it will also affect recycling and bulk pick up in Indy.

 

Regular trash pick up in the Independence city limits moves by one day during the holidays. Pick up for Coffeyville residents will be Saturday, January 3, instead of Friday.

 

Normal operations should resume next week.
