A Topeka man is dead following a single-vehicle accident on New Year's Day.

The accident occurred around 10:15 Thursday night on US-24 about 5 miles north of Lawrence. 59-year-old Ahijah Adams was westbound in a 2012 GMC Sierra pickup when he failed to negotiate a curve on the highway. His truck left the roadway to the left and overturned multiple times. Adams was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
