Two people are arrested in Independence for domestic battery in separate incidents.
On Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of West Laurel Street a round 5:15am after receiving a 9-1-1 hang up call. Following an investigation, police arrested 18-year-old Kenai Castorena of Independence. Castorena was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and faces a charge of domestic battery.
I-P-D responded to another incident on Sunday in the 400 block of North 4th Street. That call led to the arrest of 38-year-old Eric Hooks Jr. on charges of domestic battery, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, criminal threat and child endangerment.
All suspects are presumed innocent.
