New charges are announced in the case of a 13-year-old Pleasanton boy who was found deceased in Missouri on December 22.
Detectives from the Kansas City, Kansas, police department say the new charges against 47-year-old Damon Leonard include interference with law enforcement, criminal desecration, and having a vicious dog at large. Leonard, who is also a resident of Pleasanton, led police to the remains of 13-year-old Airen Andula in a Bates County Missouri ravine last week. He has also been charged with abandonment of a corpse in the case and additional charges are expected to be filed in Kansas.
Andula disappeared on the Sunday before Christmas after riding his bike to a neighbor's house to care for their animals while they were out of town.
K-C-K-P-D was called in to investigate the case as an outside agency.
