The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks along with the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the illegal dumping of several deer carcasses.
The animal remains were discovered on Friday by a McPherson County Sheriff’s deputy in a ditch along Mohawk Road. Officials say the deer appear to have been legally harvested, but the disposal of the animals violates Kansas law.
Kansas statute prohibits the dumping of wild game carcasses in rivers streams, ditches, roads, or other public areas.
The incident remains under investigation.
