Young Girl Credited with Saving Family From House Fire

A five-year-old Park Hill, Oklahoma, girl is being credited with saving her family from a house fire on December 19th.

The family of five had gone to bed for the evening, but the five-year-old was still awake around 10pm when she saw smoke in the house. The girl woke her father and, thanks to her actions, all members of the family were able to safely escape the blaze. By the time, fire crews arrived on the scene, about half of the house was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the home was a total loss. Investigators believe the fire began in a woodstove in the living room.

Crews from the Keys Volunteer Fire Department in Park Hill responded to the call with mutual aid from Talequah Fire.

A GoFundMe has been established for the family.
