The week of Christmas yields several arrests for Independence Police in separate incidents.
On Sunday, December 21st, a call for a possible medical emergency led to the arrest of 19-year-old Brayden Beye. Beye faces charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
On Christmas Eve, I-P-D was called to the 700 block of north 10th Street around 1:30am for a report of an attempted burglary. Officers arrived on the scene, and following an investigation, arrested 43-year-old Nathan Matthews of Independence on charges of DUI. On that same day, around 10:30pm, officers received a report of a female asking for help in the 500 block of south 17th Street. After investigating the reports, officers arrested 28-year-old Aaron Theel on multiple charges including domestic battery, criminal threat, and endangering a child.
Officers also responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury car accident on Christmas Day.
All suspects are presumed innocent.
