Authorities in Linn County are investigating the death of a 13-year-old Pleasanton boy.

 

Police say Airen Andula disappeared on Sunday while riding his bicycle to a neighbor's house to feed their pets while they were out of town. When he didn't return home, his family reported him missing. As the search for andula was underway, 47-year-old Damon Leonard, also of Pleasanton, reported to police that he knew where the boy could be found. Leonard led investigators to a ravine in Bates County, Missouri, about 30 miles from Pleasanton.

 

Leonard was arrested and has been charged in Missouri with abandonment of a corpse. He is being held on a $100,00 bond pending extradition to Kansas, where he likely faces additional charges in the case.

 

Police have not released the cause of Andula's death.
