The Kansas Highway Patrol seeks help from the public in identifying a commercial motor vehicle involved in a fatal accident near Liberal early Monday morning.

 

The vehicle is believed to be a light-colored semi truck that is possibly silver or gray in color. The vehicle hauling an over sized load that included a large steel cylinder. The vehicle was parked on the eastbound shoulder of US-54 just east of Liberal in foggy conditions. The vehicle was struck from behind by a pickup truck and then fled the scene after the accident. The crash claimed the life of 26-year-old Aaron Patton of Liberal.
