For those looking for something to do with their real Christmas tree after the holiday, K-State has an option for them.

Fisheries and Aquatics Extension Specialist Joe Gerken says Christmas trees can be repurposed beyond holiday décor.  Gerken says there are some steps to get a tree ready to be placed in a pond.

Gerken says to remove any ornaments or anything else man made from the tree. He also warns about using any trees that have been sprayed with fire retardants or color or scent sprays.
