Montgomery County approves a contract with the Kansas Department of Transportation for the replacement of a bridge located northwest of Bolton.
Public Works Director Brandon Beurskins says the winning bid for the project on County Road 2500 came in less than expected.
The only part of the project that would need to be covered by the county would be $3,000 for plaques attached to the bridge. Beurskins says the plaques would include the date built and names of the commissioners and would be optional.
Beurskins also informed commissioners that a request for bids would go out to purchase a new trailer to replace one that had been stolen earlier this year from a job site.
