The Wilson County Commission tackles an updated trash disposal agreement and tree removal.
At last week's regular meeting, the commission discussed out-of-county trash disposal from Green Environmental hauled to the transfer station, which was not a part of Kevin Starbuck’s original contract fee. A motion was made by Commissioner Miller to amend the landfill contract of $25.00 per ton for out-of-county trash disposal that is transferred to Allen County Landfill, effective January 1st.
A motion was also made to accept an estimate from Falling Tree Services for $6,000 for tree removal on the courthouse lawn. County Coordinator Kris Marple says there are problems with several of the trees.
The commission also heard reports from the road and bridge department and the health department. Holidays were also approved, meaning the courthouse will close early at noon on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
