An Iowa woman is dead after a weekend accident in Seward County.
72-year-old Arlis De Weerd of Rock City, Iowa, died Saturday morning in a collision with a semi-truck on US-54 near the Love’s Travel Stop in Liberal. The accident occurred when the big rig driven by 41-year-old Emmanual Terrel Lee Jimmerson of North Las Vegas, Nevada, was pulling onto US-54 from the Travel Stop Parking lot around 8:20am. Jimmerson’s truck was struck by a west-bound F-350 hauling an RV trailer. The F-350 was driven by 73-year-old Stanley De Weerd, also of Rock City, Iowa. Stanely De Weerd was seriously injured and taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita
