The Montgomery County Commission will meet today for their next-to-last regular meeting of 2025.
On today’s agenda is the yearly update from the Independence Chamber of Commerce. Commissioners are also expected to approve the 2026 service agreement with Merchant McIntyre in addition to approving a contract with the Kansas Department of Transportation to replace a bridge on County Road 2500 northwest of Bolton. There will also be a discussion of vehicle quotes for the County Health Department and a transfer station modification permit with Green Environmental Services. County Clerk Ami Standridge and Director of Human Resources Ashley Hand will also appear to give their end-of-year reports.
Today’s meeting begins at 9am in the Commission Room on the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the County’s website.
