Deputies in Osage County are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this week.

Late Monday evening, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call in the southern part of Osage County. When they arrived on the scene, they found one individual on the floor of the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. They rendered first aid to the victim, but the 24-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. It was later discovered that the victim, identified as Cody Teel, had been recently released from prison, came to the residence and caused a disturbance. At that time, Teel showed a firearm and was shot by the 9-1-1 caller.

The shooting remains under investigation as the Osage County Attorney's Office reviews the case. No arrests have been made.
