Kansas CBD Shop Sues State After Raid

A Kansas C-B-D shop files a lawsuit against the State of Kansas in the aftermath of October raids.

The owners of the Hanging Leaf in McPherson (mick-FUR-son) are suing Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach and Kansas Bureau of Investigation Director Tony Mativi. The store owners say the products that were seized by the KBI in an October raid were legal and they would like to have them back. The plaintiffs point to a 2018 farm bill that says any product below 0.3 percent (three-tenths percent) in delta nine THC is legal. The Hanging Leaf claims its product were under that limit.

The KBI says its search warrants were reviewed and signed by a judge, giving them the authority to seize illegal merchandise.

Area shops that were included in the October raids by the KBI include Indy Vapes on North Penn Avenue in Independence and Sedan One Stop in Sedan.
