Officials from the Andover, Kansas, Public Schools are praising a school bus driver for her calm demeanor after a bird flies into her windshield during a school trip.
Officials say Melissa Prock was transporting the Andover High School girls basketball team to a game on Tuesday afternoon when a Canada goose struck the bus windshield when the vehicle was traveling at highway speeds. The impact caused the glass to shatter, affecting Prock's ability to see. However, the driver remained calm and was able to guide the bus to a safe location.
The members of the girls team transferred to the boys' bus and continued on to the game. No one was injured in the incident.
