The City of Parsons looks to support quality of life as part of economic development.
At the most recent meeting of the Parsons City Commission, Director of Economic Development Jim Zaleski asked commissioners to transfer funding from the general fund to economic development. Zaleski says this will help improve transparency for taxpayers.
Zaleski says this is part of an effort to give people a reason to enjoy the amenities Parsons has to offer.
In other business, commissioners discussed options that the city could take to help decrease costs of routine maintenance and repairs for vehicles in the city's fleet, including sending out bids for work or hiring more mechanics. No action was taken on the issue.
