A UPS driver is dead after his truck is struck by a B-N-S-F train near the City of Burrton in Reno County.
The accident occurred Tuesday at the rail crossing near US-50 and Woodberry Road. When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they discovered a heavily damaged UPS truck. EMS removed the driver from the truck and began life-saving measures, but the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. There were two B-N-S-F employyes on the train who were uninjured. No names have yet been released.
The Reno County Sheriff's Office, Burrton Fire & EMS, Reno County EMS, and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the call.
The investigation continues into the cause of the crash.
