Police in Iola are looking for a suspect in a suspicious device found in the city on Sunday.

 

Authorities say a possible chemical bomb was discovered in a ditch near Cottonwood and Buchanan Streets. The device was rendered inert by Kansas Highway Patrol bomb technicians.

 

Iola police say they have identified a suspect but that the individual remains at large.

 

The investigation remains ongoing.
