A Parsons man is arrested after an investigation into a domestic violence incident.

Parsons Police officers took a report Saturday around noon from an adult female victim who said a domestic dispute at a residence escalated into physical violence, including strangulation, threats of serious harm, and property damage. Several children were present during the incident.  Officers documented visible injuries. 

Later that afternoon, police located 34-year-old Joseph Wayne Zenk at a local business and took him into custody. Zenk was arrested on suspicion of multiple domestic-violence-related offenses, including domestic battery, aggravated battery, criminal threat, and child endangerment. Additional charges related to strangulation are under review. Formal charges will be determined by the Labette County Attorney’s Office. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time due to the involvement of juveniles.
