A 19-year-old Columbus girl is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Baxter Springs.

Meredith Wagner died early Saturday morning when her Chevy Blazer overturned and ejected her from the vehicle. The accident happened on US-400, about 2 miles east of Baxter Springs. Wagner was traveling westbound around 6am when her SUV left the roadway to the left. She then overcorrected, causing the Blazer to veer right and leave the road again. At that point the vehicle overturned. Wagner was pronounced deceased at the scene.
