Cherryvale will participate in Wreaths Across America Day this weekend.

 

Local resident Crystal Hardin is organizing this first-time event in Cherryvale. Hardin says she's been able to secure 156 wreaths for this year’s observance.

 

The wreaths will be placed on veterans' tombstones on Saturday. About 30 of the 156 wreaths have been sponsored by individuals who wish to have the wreaths placed at specific grave sites.

 

Prior to the placement of wreaths on military grave sites, a brief ceremony will be held to commemorate the event on Saturday at 11 a.m., and the public is welcome to attend.
