The William Inge Center for the Arts at Independence Community Colleges announces the 2026 Inge Festival honoree.
Qui Nguyen has been chosen to be honored at the 43rd William Inge Festival in April. Nguyen is an Emmy Award–winning writer, filmmaker, and playwright who recently received a 2024 Kennedy Center College Theatre Festival Gold Medallion Award. Nguyen's credits also include work Marvel Studios, Netflix, AMC, SYFY, and PBS. He is the writer of Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, which earned a 2022 Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. He is also a member of the Writers Guild of America.
Nguyen will be honored at the 43rd Annual William Inge Theatre Festival in Independence. The festival runs April 23-25, 2026.
