An Altoona woman is dead following a head-on collision on US-400 in Crawford County.

The accident occurred around 2:45 yesterday afternoon about 4 ½ miles west of K-7. A 2015 Nissan Altima driven by 38-year-old Eric Meyers of Des Moines, Iowa, was traveling eastbound on US-400 when he crossed the center line of the highway and collided head-on with a 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by 68-year-old Carol Sharp of Altoona. Sharp was taken to Joplin's Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Meyers was taken to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg with serious injuries.
