Firefighters from Coffeyville Fire and Dearing Rural Fire are called to a structure fire just south of Coffeyville.

 

The call came in just after 9pm Thursday night when crews from both departments were called to a residence on South Overlook Drive near the intersection of James School Road for a working attic fire.

 

Coffeyville crews arrived first on the scene and were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. Dearing Rural Fire then arrived and assisted with putting out hotspots. Units from South Coffeyville, Tyro, and Liberty Fire Departments were called for mutual aid, b ut were canceled en route. The residence was occipied when the fire began, but all were able to safely escape the structure.

 

The cause of the blaze was determined to be an electrical wire inside an attic wall. No injuries were reported.
