Police in Independence are investigating reports of burglary and assault in two separate incidents this week.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday, when I-P-D officers were called to the 2000 block of West Main following reports of burglary. Officers began an investigation into thefts which occurred at the storage units located on West Laurel Street. The investigation remains ongoing as investigators attempt to determine a suspect or suspects in the case.

The second incident happened on Wednesday morning when officers were called the 200 block of West Chestnut Street after reports of a criminal threat. A juvenile suspect was taken into custody and faces charges of Assault & Battery, Criminal Threat and Criminal Damage.
