The Parsons City Commission approves just over $17,000 for the installation of a new shelter house at Parsons Lake.
At this week's meeting, commissioners approved the release of restricted lake funds to pay for the project. The Parsons Lake Advisory Board has contracted with Bates Welding and Fencing of Oswego to install the 30 X 30 all-steel structure on the existing concrete pad located near the main boat ramp. Commissioner Tom Shaw says he pleased to see the project take shape.
Shaw and fellow Commissioner Leland Crooks both agree that Parsons Lake is a great resource for the area.
Parsons Lake is located a few miles northwest of the City. The year-round recreational area draws visitors from across the region.
