Crews from the Independence Fire/EMS Department respond to a possible structure fire.
The call came in around 4pm Tuesday afternoon and firefighters were dispatched to a residence on East Birch Street. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke throughout home, but no flames. The cause of the smoke was discobvered to be an exercise ball that had rolled onto a floor furnace and melted. Firefighters used a positive pressure fan to remove the smoke from the residence.
There were no injuries and the only property that was damaged was the exercise ball.
