One person is dead and another seriously injured following a head-on crash in Allen County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened at around 5:30pm yesterday on Highway 169 about half a mile east of 1150th Street. KHP Troopers report a 2015 Ford F-150, driven by 58-year-old Jerri Linn Francis of Chanute, was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound 2019 GMC Sierra on the northbound shoulder.
Francis was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to Countryside Funeral Home. The driver of the GMC, 19-year-old Charles Edward Rogers II of Iola, was transported to Wesley Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.
