A southeast Kansas woman involved in a June shooting at a Girard apartment complex will not see jail time for her role in the shooting.

 41-year-old Demitra Durden reached a plea deal in connection with the shooting at the Maple Tree Apartments. She was sentenced to 18 months of probation in Crawford County. Durden pleaded no contest in October to one count of interfering with law enforcement.

 When officers arrived, they found 36-year old Anaun Sams with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

 The three other suspects charged in this case, Rickey Burns, Sr., Rickey Burns, Jr., and Cody Hammonds, are all scheduled for court appearances this month.
