Trout season is now officially open at LeClere Lake.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks started the 2025–2026 trout season, which will run through March 31st. Last week, LeClere Lake was stocked with 360 rainbow trout weighing almost 300 pounds. The fish were supplied by Crystal Lake Fisheries in preparation for the opening of the season.
For those planning to fish at LeClere Lake, a Kansas fishing license is required for residents ages 16 to 74 and for all non-residents age 16 and older. In addition, a trout permit is required from December 1st through March 31st to fish at the lake. Fishermen are reminded to check current trout limits, license requirements, and permit rules before heading out.
