The first snowfall of the year for the area is expected on Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, light to moderate snow will spread across the area on Monday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Snow accumulation is mainly expected across central and northeast Kansas. Coffeyville areas along the Kansas-Oklahoma line have a lower chance of seeing snow accumulation, but snowfall chances increase further north of Montgomery County.
