The controversy surrounding EMS services in Neodesha continues despite recent meetings between the City and the County Commission.
The City of Neodesha has been looking for a solution that would allow it to continue to provide EMS services to its citizens. The City Commission appears ready to commit to an agreement with Labette Health to provide those services despite recent objections from the Wilson County Commission and Fredonia EMS. At this week's City Commission meeting, Neodesha residents were once again on hand to voice their concerns. One man says he thinks there should be more unity in Wilson County and that the City should partner with Fredonia.
Another citizen says he takes the opposite view.
The City says Fredonia was given an opportunity, but Labette Health presented the more complete plan. Mayor Devin Johnson says, that's what happened, despite what others may say.
Currently, the agreement is under review by Labette Health. City Administrator Brogan Jones told the commission that they may have the agreement back as soon as next week.
