Coffeyville Cold Weather Rule Begins Monday

The City of Coffeyville Cold Weather Rule goes into effect on Monday.

The Cold Weather Rule is designed to help safeguard households during periods of freezing temperatures. From December 1 through March 1, the City will not discontinue electric service to any residential customer if forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate temperatures will drop below 32°F within the following 24 hours. This ensures residents are not left without electricity when weather conditions may pose health and safety risks. The Cold Weather Rule Policy works in conjunction with the City’s existing utility ordinances and includes requirements for customers to remain in good standing.

A link for the full ordinance that includes complete details on rights, responsibilities, and exceptions under the Cold Weather Rule Policy can be found at this link.
