The Montgomery County Treasurer's Office announces that the final round of property tax statements were sent out to residents this week.
The statements were mailed on Monday so residents should expect to receive them sometime this week. The first half of property taxes are due on December 20. That date falls on a weekend this year, so payments will be accepted on Monday, December 22, without penalty. Payments sent by mail must be post marked by December 22nd to avoid late fees.
In-person payments can be made at both the Independence Office at 217 East Myrtle or at the Coffeyville Office at 128 West 8th during regular office hours, Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, though the Independence Office is closed during the noon hour.
Payments can also be made online through the State of Kansas payment portal.
