The City of Independence fall leaf pick up is underway.
The City's curbside program began last week and is slated to continue through February. Pick up dates and times depend on location as the City has been divided into 15 different zones. This week's pick up area is zone 2, located south of Main Street between 12th and 17th Streets.
Citizens are reminded that leaves should be left in piles no more than 5 feet from the curb and should be free of debris, including brush, rocks, bricks, or other miscellaneous items.
