The Montgomery County Commission will meet today and discuss a resolution to set guidelines for the purchasing of equipment in online auction by Rural Fire.

 

Rural Fire Chief Michael Smith will appear before the commission today to take part in the open discussion. The purpose of the proposed resolution is to establish purchasing limits and procedures on reputable online sites such as Purple Wave and Gov Auctions without having to ask for commission approval for each purchase.

 

Also on today’s agenda will be quarterly reports from Facilities Maintenance Supervisor Jeff Phelps and from County Appraiser Melody Kikkert. There will also be a presentation from a representative of Holmes-Murphy on insurance policies for county employees.

 

Today’s meeting begins at 9am in the Commission Room on the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the County’s website.
