Elk Falls sees a record attendance at the 30th annual Outhouse Festival.
While not everyone cast a ballot, organizers say a total of 1,200 votes were tallied. A total of 23 decorated outhouses were available to tour this year, and the winners include a third-place finish by “Little Potty on the Prairie” by first-timers Karen Anderson of Howard and Geneva Triboulet of Grenola. Second place was “Tiki Pee Pee” by Karen Tuffley from Topeka. First place was won by Natalie and Travis Spruell of Farmington, New Mexico and their entry, “High Plains Floater.”
The annual outhouse tour takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving in Elk Falls.
