Parsons Police respond to a shooting and fight in the 200 block of McKnight Drive.
A 911 caller reported a man firing several shots before being tackled. Officers arrived to an active fight, separated those involved and recovered a handgun with no ammunition remaining. Police say the incident began inside an apartment where several people confronted Jesse Graninger during a domestic dispute and prevented him from leaving. Graninger escaped and was pursued outside, where he fired multiple shots during a struggle. He was detained and treated for injuries. One adult male reported possible injuries.
Detectives recovered additional evidence from the home, including an airsoft pistol and a loaded shotgun. After interviews, investigators determined two people were the primary aggressors in the assault on Graninger. One adult male was arrested for aggravated battery. A juvenile male was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, criminal restraint and criminal use of a weapon.
Graninger was released after police confirmed he was legally allowed to possess a firearm. Detectives are still working to identify another adult involved.
