Elk Falls will celebrate 30 years of outhouse festivities this weekend.
Coming up this tomorrow and Saturday, the small town of Elk Falls will be flush with excitement during the annual Outhouse Tour.
Organizer Jane Fry says what began as a quirky community idea to bring visitors into town has grown into a beloved Kansas tradition.
Fry says visitors should stop at the headquarters downtown to purchase a button and a ballot for $1.
There will also be 30-year T-shirts to mark the occasion. A craft show will be held at the Elk Falls Gym both days from 9 to 5, plus lots of homemade food all over town. The 1872 Keefe Homestead will be open for tours, and Elk Falls Pottery will be open as well. Several garage sales will also take place all over town.
Saturday's Entertainment includes live bands and a classic car show. It all happens in this weekend in Elk Falls.
