A McCune man is sentenced to more than six years in prison for the 2023 killing of his grandson.

70-year-old John Fox was sentenced on Monday in a Crawford County courtroom for the 2023 shooting death of his grandson 28-year-old Ian Fox. Fox was sentenced to 74 months in prison after he entered a guilty plea in September to voluntary manslaughter and criminal discharge of a firearm. As part of his plea deal, the main charge of second degree murder was reduced to manslaughter. After his release, Fox will also spend an additional 36 months under supervised release and he will also be required to register as a violent offender for 15 years.
