The Altamont City Council approves the annexation of Idle Hours Lake.
The move came at the council’s most recent meeting. The issue had been tabled for more than a year while city officials examined their options and considered the opinions of local residents on the matter. The move by the Labette County Commission to implement county-wide zoning last year prompted the City to consider the annexation. City Attorney Robert Myers says the county commission is ready to consider approval of the annexation.
The Labette County Commission will meet today at 9am on November 17 in Oswego to consider the resolution.
In other business, council members announced that Schwab Eaton will be available on Thursday, December 11, at 6:00 PM before the regular Council meeting, to answer questions regarding the KDOT Transportation Alternatives Sidewalk Project.
