The Montgomery County Commission will meet today and conduct the official canvass of the November 4th General Election.
Montgomery County Clerk Ami Standridge will appear before the commission today to conduct the canvass. The purpose of the canvass is to ensure the accuracy of the election results and to officially certify the outcome before sending the results to the office of the Kansas Secretary of State.
Public Works Director Brandon Beurskins will also be at today’s meeting to request a bid for chemicals and pipe for his department as well as to discuss the High Risk Rural Roads program. County Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson will also present the Local Disaster Recovery Plan for approval by commissioners.
Today’s meeting begins at 9am in the Commission Room on the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the County’s website.
