The City of Neodesha decides to wait on Wilson County before making a final decision on EMS services.
The City Commission has been considering an interlocal agreement with Labette Health to provide EMS services for the City. The Wilson County Commission has stepped into the decision, questioning why the City did not consult with the County or with Fredonia EMS. Last week, the County tabled a decision on whether or not to allow Neodesha the flexibility to make an agreement with Labette. Neodesha Mayor Devin Johnson says the process has been frustrating.
Commissioner Ed Truelove and City Adminstrator Brogan Jones both attended the recent County meetings. Truelove says it's important for Neodesha to be able to make it's own decisions.
Commissioner Duane Banzet says he thinks it's important to keep the lines of communication open with the county.
Commissioners voted to table the interlocal agreement until after the County makes a decision on Wednesday.
