An Edna woman is injured in a collision with a semi in Cherokee County.
The accident occurred around 1:30 Thursday afternoon at the intersection of US-166 and 5th Street in Chetopa. 81-year-old Sharon Triebel was northbound on 5th Street and failed to yield at a stop sign. Triebel's 2020 Honda HR-V then struck a 2016 Kenworth that was westbound on US-166. Triebel was taken to Joplin's Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the semi 66-year-old Ricky Robertson of Quapaw, OK, as well as a minor child in Triebel's vehicle were both uninjured in the accident.
