The USD-436 now has a school resource officer, after the agreement between the district and the Caney Police Department was approved in their most recent meeting.

 

 Superintendent Blake Vargas says the SRO is vital for more than just school security.

 

 Although SRO Missy Hockett will have an office in the high school, her schedule includes time in all school buildings.

 

 Funding for the SRO is provided through grant funding for three years.

 

 In other business, discussions continued on Caney Memorial Stadium. School officials hope to have more information on core samples taken from the structure in the near future.
