The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for the City of Yates Center and Woodson County Rural Water District #1. Also included in the adivosory are The City of Vrigil in Greenwood County and Wilson County Rural Water District #9 public water supply systems.
Customers should boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation or use bottled water instead. Dispose of ice cubes from trays and automatic ice makers. If your tap water appears dirty, flush the water lines by letting the water run until it clears.
Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled, but supervision of children is necessary while bathing so that water is not ingested.
KDHE officials issued the advisory because of a loss of pressure due to a water line break in the City of Yates Center water system.
