Two Osage County, Oklahoma, Sheriff's deputies are shot during a police standoff at a Pawhuska home.
Yesterday afternoon around 2:30, the Pawhuska Police Department responded to a domestic assault and battery incident that possibly involved a dangerous weapon. The suspect had barricaded himself inside the home and allegedly made verbal threats to officers. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office was then called in for assistance.
After a standoff lasted several hours, deputies made entry into the home in an attempt to arrest the suspect. Upon entering the residence, the suspect began firing at deputies who then returned fire. Two deputies were wounded in the exchange and taken to a nearby hospital. The suspect was also injured. None of the injuries were life-threatening.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate the officer involved shooting.
