The Independence City Commission will meet tonight and continue the business of addressing the problem of unsafe structures in the City.
At tonight's meeting, there will be public hearings on three structures deemed dangerous and unsafe. Commissioners are also expected to set public hearing dates for eight additional properties. Also on tonight's agenda is a resolution to authorize the sale of property to Textron Aviation and the additional sale of three lots in the Jefferson Subdivision to First Step Builders. Contracts for HVAC work at Memorial Hall and a sewer replacement project at 1st and Birch Streets will also be awarded.
Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30 in the Commission Room at City Hall. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the City of Independence website.
